Graduate Level Psychology Externship Program
The Wesleyan CAPS externship program is designed to provide clinical training to exceptional doctoral-level students in clinical/counseling/school psychology. Trainees receive supervised training in individual and group counseling/psychotherapy, comprehensive training and supervision in the assessment of learning disabilities, and mental health crisis intervention. Trainees also participate in didactic seminars, individual and group supervision, outreach, and consultation activities. Advanced practicum trainee positions are often available for trainees who would like to continue their externship for a second year and engage in additional and more advanced tranining opportunities. Wesleyan provides each trainee with $500 per semester in travel support starting with the 2025-2026 academic year.
